| Washington,
DC -- This past saturday, April 17, La Tocadita
Classic lost a heartbreaker to Azzurri in
the Saturday first division of the Washington
International Soccer League. The game started
off with major control of the Azzurri midfield,
which led to numerous crucial saves by the
Classic goalkeeper. New player additions gave
much needed life to team that had a sub par
performance the previous weekend. La Tocadita
Classic played a much better second half thanks
in part to a midfield that recuperated critical
50/50 balls, maintaining control of the majority
of Azzurri’s attacks. Unfortunately,
Azzurri scored a late half controversial goal
as one of the Classic defenders was tying
his shoes. From the re-play, it was clear
that the Azzurri goal scorer was offside.
Hopefully, the Classic can rebound next Saturday,
even though they will be missing their sweeper
due to drinking engagements at Vanderbilt’s
University Spring Festival. The team is looking
to fine the player $500 dollars as a result
of his off the field antics. Dirty
