| Yesterday
we played one of our best games. There is
little doubt that we have the best team in
the League and we will most likely return
as Champs. The differences between us and
the other teams are clear; we make it difficult
for them to do anything and we have totally
dominated the games. In goal, Scott continues
to demonstrate his abilities as a goalie,
but yesterday he committed his first big error
since the championship began and it cost us
a goal. This demonstrates the importance of
the goalie since the team can play 100% but
a bad play can costs you a goal. It is a difficult
position to play and luckily we have the best
goalie in the league. The defense continues
to be the fortress of our team; it is impressive
the way they claw at the opponents. Ben and
Raul always play each ball to the maximum
or more and they make sure that one of the
two things happens: that they play the ball
or the player. The addition of Augi to the
team this season was great; he gives us a
lot of calmness and slows down and organizes
the defense. On the sides, Toby and Joao juiced
up the team and they were unstoppable. For
me they were the best players on the team
since they did not commit any errors the whole
game -- very clean plays and they cleared
the ball well. How they were able to cover
the fast forwards we do not know (luckily
doping is not monitored). We do continue to
have some problems; mainly when we do not
work together and we are very worried about
giving up the ball and we do not pause. I
believe that we need to enjoy the touch of
the ball and control it, but it seems that
the ball burns our feet. Alex B puts out a
lot, but he needs to relax more in his passes
as demonstrated in the second goal of the
game. He laid off a pass perfectly to Charly
demonstrating how well it can be done. Peter
juiced up the team but he needs to be a little
more aggressive in the attack; it is important
to play in the back, but also to move up on
the advanced plays. Dani also perfectly lined
up the first goal; it is important that he
continue in the attack as this is what he
is best able to do. Impeccable in defense
and very aggressive Matt too can help us by
moving forward. Steve had his worse game yesterday
but it seems to me that it is ineffective
putting him in the game and then quickly taking
him out. I believe that if he starts from
the beginning and has more serious minutes
we will be better off; to enter and to leave
every 15 minutes does not benefit him and
it is tough to keep on re-entering the game
(sorry Steve but that was my fault in not
coordinating the substitutions). Our new “goleador”
on the team had a rest yesterday (Paulo);
he knows how to play attacking midfielder
and midfielder defender. We already know his
new position -- another goal like the first
games and he will be in another league. Charly
seems to have finally converted his goal scoring;
without a doubt he is the best forward of
the league and luckily we have him in our
attack. Without a doubt he was the HM of the
game with the goal that he got. Carlitos is
recovering from his injury and can be a great
goal scorer for us. Pancho as always was very
reliable, and he never gets tired of running.
Alex, we missed each other. Javier came late,
but better late than never, and we hope that
in the coming week that he gets some minutes.
In conclusion the team continues improving;
and sorry for the lack of organization in
the substitutions and delays in the game report.
The third half (as it is said in rugby) is
a fundamental part of the team; and last night
that spirit was shown by some of us (Scott,
Charly, Raul and Peter).
MVP:
Joaocarlos (impeccable, without errors, speed?
luckily there are no
doping rules)
HM: Charly Ruiz (if he continues nailing goals
like yesterday it will be tough to get him
off the podium)
As
always,
El
Cordobés
