Tactical concepts/game situations:
Each week, the entire club will focus on a single tactical
concept. During the first practice of the week, players
will review the concept from an attacking perspective. During
the second practice of the week, players will learn how
to defend against that game situation.
For example, if a team practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays;
on Tuesday the team will focus on scoring off corner kicks.
On Thursday, players will learn how to mark-up on corners,
how to cover the goal and general defensive tips.
Players will have access and the responsibility to review
short videos, photos and tips prior to practice. The material
will explain how Toca Players are expected to perform under
those situations.
Parents are also encouraged to watch this material. It
will help support our players development and also help
our parents understand their child’s development.
Technical Skills:
A set of suggested drills will be posted for each training
session. Our coaches have selected a set of drills that
ensure that all technical aspects are addressed as the season
progresses. The club does recommend that coaches deviate
from this program if a team is relatively weak in other
technical areas. Further, coaches may have some unique drills
of their preference.
Players may be requested to set-up and explain the drills
posted on our website to their team-mates. This is done
in the spirit that all of our players are leaders, captains
and coaches in the making.
Rules of the Game:
To complement the tactical topic of the week, our staff
will post the relevant rules for that game situation. For
example, if the tactical topic is corner kicks, in this
section the player can find all of the relevant rules pertaining
to a corner kick.
Physical training:
Players will find guidelines with the club’s expectation
regarding their physical conditioning. To aid the player
in attaining these goals, a homework section will outline
a running schedule and complementary exercises. |
